Fragile Crystal: Rubies and Rivalries by M.J. Lawless

Next page. Then I kissed every accessible inch of her cooling skin as my heart, or whatever was left of it, cracked and shattered within my rib cage. It has always been you. My eyes scanned her beautiful battered face as I silently prayed for the woman I love, the woman I killed, to open her dark brown eyes. But they never opened. Now, know this. I am coming for you. And I revel at the thought of adding a man to my numbers. Do not fear, you will get your chance to experience the wrath of Roman Payne.

The cold splatter spraying across my face brings me back to the present. The carcass of the Heather lying prone on the plastic covered floor is currently being quartered and stripped. They are all Heather to me. Every number, twenty-one to thirty seven, have all been named Heather. I quickly became less picky as my addiction grew too strong, two to three women a night was barely enough to sustain my need. At some point, pickiness flew out of the window and all I required was the next number to be blond and answer to Heather.

Roman's Redemption: Roman: Book II (Roman's Trilogy)

This is a very interesting series. It's like other series I've read, but at the same time nothing like them. Daniel is the strong, rich dominant male But where it turns different is that is there is intrigue and mystery mixed in. Lawless uses their character flaws to weave a great story that doesn't just focus only on them. It's darker and a bit more intense than the first book with jealous ex-lovers, business rivals and mistakes threatening to break them apart - or maybe push them closer.

I like Kris and Daniel so much more than other similiar duos, they are not so dependent on each other or so unreasonably jealous. I guess it seemed more believable. You also find out more what the title of these books mean in the second book, and I absolutely loved it. The author has a distinct style of writing that was refreshing.

Rough and raw Ruby and Sapphire crystals - what Ruby and Sapphire look like as they are mined

She doesn't spell out every character's thought, but it still flowed smoothly and you know exactly what they were feeling or trying to convey. I would compare this series so far to finding a little quaint restaurant off the main road that not everyone knows about, you take a chance with it and love it.

The Crystal Fragments Trilogy by M.J. Lawless

Can't wait to get to the third book. Everyone better leave Daniel and Kris alone and let them have a happily ever after!

Jan 11, Kathryn Wren rated it it was amazing. Absolutely loved it, it was much darker than the first book with the introduction of Maria, the jealous ex of Daniels. Beautifully written and it flows just right, I will be recommending this book to all my friends or rather this trilogy. The only thing that I am really dissapointed at is that I am upto the final book and I don't want it to end. Looking forward to another great read with Refracted Crytals: Diamonds and Desires and I am truly hoping that it is a happy ending for Kris and Daniel.

Lawless your imagination and writing style is out of this world!! Jan 04, Emmy rated it did not like it Shelves: I have no idea what possessed me to read on when I really did not enjoy the first book.. But this one had "Rivals" in the title so I thought maybe the story would pick up with a little interesting drama: Unfortunately this fell really flat.

There were a lot of characters introduced that annoyed the hell out of me and this book did not raise my opinions about this trilogy.
